Had my appointment today. I''ve only gained 1 pound!! That''s pretty good. Seeing as how I feel like a cow. The baby is measuring right on track and we got to hear the heartbeat again. I''ve got another ultrasound pic, just need to upload it.
I went in for an appointment today just kind of spur of the moment. JR couldn''t go with me but I did get to hear the baby''s heartbeat!! Makes us feel so much better!!! I also got a pic too. I''m measuring 3 days ahead of what I had originally thought too.
Something clicked for Ethan today. He figured out that he can go potty in the potty chair! He''s went every time I''ve taken him in there, which is about every 15-30 minutes. He''s only had 2 accidents too!!! We''re so proud of him and hopefully we can keep this up.
Ethan became a big brother on December 12th! He started out being not too sure of baby Eli but now he''s warming up to him and helping us out when he can. He likes to get the diapers and throw away the dirty ones. He checks Eli out when he''s eating too. He''s pretty interested now. I think he''s going to be protective over Eli in the coming months. We''re so happy to be a little family of 4!
I think big brother is ready for his baby brother to be here. This morning he looked in the empty bassinett and then looked at me like "what goes in here." I told him that that''s where baby brother will sleep. He went into his room and got his cabbage patch doll and put it in the bassinett. It was so stinkin cute!!! I''ll have to take a pic and show him when he gets older.
We can''t believe our little boy is 2 years old!! Time flies when you''re having fun!! He had a WONDERFUL birthday. He had so much fun playing with his friends and cousins. Some of his favorite toys that he got include his shopping cart, pirate ship, Mr Potato Head, Little People bulldozer, and even his cabbage patch kid. He gives it rides in his shopping cart. He even put his baby to bed tonite. I was impressed. :) He''s going to make one great big brother. Pics from the party to come!!
Ethan''s new thing is to ask "why?" after you tell him to do something. He''s so silly. We''re also working on potty training which I think he''s doing super well if I do say so myself. He goes in the potty chair at least once a day. That''s excellent for a 2 year old. Especially a boy, they seem to have harder time getting it down than girls do. He still hasn''t quite figured out that mommy has a baby in her tummy either. You can ask him where baby brother is and he''ll point to either my tummy or his own. It''s so cute! He''s been very interested in babies lately too. Especially when he sees pictures of one, he''ll get excited and say "Baby!!". His 2 year check up is on the 5th of October and I''m so curious to see how much he''s grown. Oh and we''re paci free too! We started this about 3 days ago and so far it''s going very well. I don''t think he''ll have a bit of trouble when the new one comes along and has a paci.
Ethan''s doing lots of new stuff now and I''ll be posting some new pictures soon! He now points to my tummy when you ask him where his big brother is. He''s getting a little closer to going potty in the potty chair. He''ll go and sit on it but won''t do anything in it yet. We''re not going to rush the issue so we''ll see how he''s doing in a few months.
He''s also talking a whole lot better. Last night he said "flower". He can say "belly button" but it sounds more like bell butt. :) He can say a lot of things if you ask him to too. We''re so proud of him and I can''t believe how much better he''s talking in a months time.
The new word is clearly "No". It''s kind of funny now but I know in a few months he''s going to start back talking. Oh wait, he already has. LOL :) Him and I will get into funny arguments where he''s saying No and I''m saying Yes. He thinks it''s so funny!
I''m sure everyone has heard the big news by now. We''re pregnant again! We found out a couple of weeks ago and have been kind of keeping it a secret for a while. We were actually going to wait longer to tell people but my mom started getting suspicious. :) This one is due in December and we''re extremely excited!
Let''s see...Ethan''s favorite words right now are kitty cat and cookie still. He''s working on learning some new ones though. He''s got the sign for more down pat though. He uses that for everything! His next Dr''s appointment is the 20th so we''ll get to see how big he is.
I had my first OB appt last Monday. Everything is going good. My thyroid levels are normal and she just wants to monitor them once a month. I did have my platelets check and yes they came back low. So I have to get them checked once a month too. Fun fun.
She said that since I''m having another c-section, she won''t let me go passed 39 weeks. So we will definitely have a baby by September 19th!
I guessed boy with Ethan and was right on the money. This one I''m guessing girl. But I''ll be really happy if it''s a boy too. :)
Ethan had his 15 month check up today. All is well. She said that he''s in the 90th percentile for weight, height and head circ. Dr said he''s doing things that a 21 month old would normally be doing. He didn''t like when she pushed on his tummy or stuck that thing in his ear. And he made sure she knew he didn''t like it. I think the whole office thought he was getting shots or something.
Ethan''s been sick for the last 2 days. Throwing up and diarrhea. Yeah lots of fun. Today he''s been better though. Still not eating really well. He does have a new addiction to saltines. That''s pretty much all I can get him to eat. I took one off of the counter and he said "cracker" for the first time. YAY! I don''t know if it was just a fluke but I know he said it. :)
I''ll be updating and changing his site a little this week so bear with me.
Ethan has added a few words and a phrase to his vocabulary. He now says "Look" but it sounds more like "Ook" when he points to Christmas trees or Christmas lights. He can also say duck but it sounds more like "Uck" when he''s in the tub with the rubber duckies.
He can also say "Oh Wow! It''s so cute!! Plain as day!
We took Ethan to the zoo on Friday the 29th for his birthday and he LOVED it. I''ll post some pics later. We also celebrated his birthday with family and friends on Saturday the 30th. He had a wonderful time, got lots of nice things and loved his cake!!
Well he''s had a few hard falls to the floor lately and he''s slowing down on the walking. :) I think he''s learning to take his time instead of running. So now he''s back down to just a few steps at a time.
He took 3 steps all by himself today! YAY!!! From our big window in the living room over to the coffee table. He did it about 3 more times then he was done. I tried to catch it on video but he was too fast for me. He was going after a magazine I was reading. YAY my little boy is starting to walk!!!
Nothing really exciting going on with us lately. We got our new countertops for the kitchen and we''re just trying to get everything unpacked and situated. I started school in August. I''m just taking a few classes but it''s hard to get back into the swing of things.
Ethan''s really wanting to walk. Our trick now is to take him out into the grass barefoot. He doesn''t like sitting in it but doesn''t mind standing in it. He walks around our entire yard holding just one of JR''s hands. It''s so cute!
He stood without holding onto anything tonite! I don''t really think he realized he was doing it either. He was wrestling with JR and just stood there drinking his juice. It was so cute! I wonder if we''ll have a walker before he''s 1??
WE GOT IT!!! They accepted our offer this afternoon and we''ll be closing on August 15th! YAY we''re so excited! They may even let us move in early since no one is living there. This doesn''t even feel real!
He pulled himself up on the couch all by himself tonite for the first time ever. I caught it on video and posted it on here. I''m beginning to think Grandma Hammer is right about him walking by the time he''s 10 months! WOW guess I need to get to baby proofing.
Ethan is sitting up so good now!! I still put pillows or his boppy (as I type this he just fell over) behind him so he doesn''t bonk his head, which he has done. He''s not too interested in crawling right now. But the Dr said not to worry about it and that some babies don''t crawl until after they walk. I think he''s too heavy in the midsection. :)
It''s been a while since I updated everyone. We''ve moved and unpacking and taking care of Ethan has taken up a lot of my time. At his 4 month appointment on January 31st he weighed a whopping 17 lbs! He''s in the 95th percentile for his weight and the 99th percentile for his height. He''s my chunky tall boy. We started him on solid foods when he was about 3 1/2 months old and so far he''s loved everything. He''s eaten all different sorts of combinations. He didn''t like peas at first (I don''t blame him) but I changed to a different brand and he loves them. His favorite is green beans and spinach. He''s like his mamma. He likes any kind of the fruit but plums and prunes are not his favorite. He''s been rolling quite a bit and is starting to grow a little more hair on his bald spot on the back of his head. :) He''s holding himself up on his arms really well and is starting to sit up unassisted pretty well too. I just can''t believe he''ll be 5 months old tomorrow!!!
From his back to his tummy. I got him up and laid him on the couch to change him before I fed him and he had rolled all the way over. He''s been so onry acting lately and I think that helped push him a little more.
